About Dr. Elisha Greggo

Elisha Greggo, MD is a double board-certified Child/Adolescent & Adult psychiatrist who primarily sees children, teenagers, and young adults but also frequently works with family members as she understands that only with healing in the family system can a child reach true healing. She has over 16 years of clinical experience working with children and adults.

Dr. Greggo is passionate about making sure her patients feel heard, understood and empowered in their journey to recovery. She believes strongly that her patients should play an active role in their treatment planning and that they leave feeling cared for and hopeful.

She enjoys working with families to better understand their loved one’s needs and enabling patients and families with the tools to experience healing. She takes the time in her assessments to ensure proper diagnosis and appropriate medical treatment when clinically necessary. She also has strong feelings about the role of psychotherapy and physical health in improving one’s mental health and works closely with many licensed mental health counselors, social workers, psychologists and primary care physicians to collaborate as a team in their patients’ treatment.

Education

Dr. Greggo graduated medical school from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.

She completed residency in general psychiatry at SUNY Upstate Medical University and then completed a specialized fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Experience

Dr. Greggo spent 4 years as an inpatient psychiatrist at William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia, SC where she ran a hospital unit caring for children in psychiatric crisis as well as supervised and taught medical students and residents. During that time, she also worked part time outpatient treating adults with severe and chronic mental illness.

Dr. Greggo went on to work for two years as an outpatient child psychiatrist at the Child Guidance Center and the Youth Crisis Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Greggo also works at Amelia Psychiatry where she treats children and adults of Nassau County. Dr. Greggo help opened the Yulee office of Amelia Psychiatry five years ago and has expanded the practice to include a physician assistant and four licensed mental health counselors.  Dr. Greggo opened Gracefully Anchored Psychiatry on Fridays in order to be able to serve children and adults of Duval County.

Dr. Greggo is currently a licensed board certified physician in the states of Florida and Georgia. She sees patients in her Jacksonville office on Fridays and virtually when available. Patients must be in Florida or Georgia at the time of any telemedicine services. Children AND Parents or designated decision-makers should be present at all appointments.

Outside of work, Dr. Greggo spends her time with her husband, two young boys and their two goldendoodles. Most of her time she can be found trying to keep up with her husband and two sons in their never ending excitement for all sports. Dr. Greggo also enjoys running and working out in her free time.
